The aim of this project, designed by DATA Architects, goes beyond a simple sport aesthetic, in wanting a full architectural experience. The two terms can not be separated in their minds. It is as much about the definition and sequencing of internal spaces on the transition between outside and inside. They are interested in all the rigor of the building as a skillful play of proportions in the light. More images and architects’ description after the break.

The architects tried not too distance themselves from some geometric simplicity, while complex and by the order, by enriching it with a constructive expression that implements energetic materials and techniques included in the recent history.

Inside the stadium is a simple and uniform world that encourages the public to focus on the game and 22 players. The stadium is wrapped, over ground, closed closer to the stage as a theater seeking above all to highlight the part that it plays. The six blocks are absolutely geometric stands, 17 rows in the balcony overlooking the lawn. Only deformed blocks centered on the axis of the “scene” are created to accommodate the boxes reserved for guests and dignitaries.

Supporting structures are drawn independently from each other. Precast concrete benches placed on “crates” containing stained concrete boxes, hull plates of corrugated iron light-colored edges of coated metal stands, structural steel cover, and inter-block are protected by walls slabs of polycarbonate.
