Cambará Instituto announces its first institutional initiative of the biennium, focused on Black women in architecture and design: Oco – Artistic-Technological Residency, which will take place at the Cerbambu headquarters in Ravena, Minas Gerais.

Oco is the name chosen for this residency—a name that carries the symbolism of bamboo, a central material in the experience, whose strength and lightness lie precisely in the void that constitutes it. It is from this hollow that sounds reverberate, flows pass through, and possibilities are born.

The residency proposes a reunion between architectural practices and knowledge rooted in the body, the earth, and collective forms of construction. The earth-body-structure triad remains the essence sustaining the project: earth as territory and ancestral matter, the body as a space of memory and action, and structure as a shared, collective gesture.
