The call for submissions for the selection of academic work for the XI Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism (XI BIAU) is now open. Curated by Arturo Franco and Ana Román, the event will take place in October 2019 in Asunción, Paraguay, with Joseto Cubilla serving as the country coordinator.
The conceptual theme for this edition is: aĩ paragua y (I inhabit - the water). Regarding this, the curators explain:
Students or faculty from Ibero-American architecture schools may submit academic work produced within an academic setting between January 1, 2016, and December 31, 2018. Work and research conducted as part of postgraduate, master's, or doctoral programs are excluded from this call, as these are more appropriate for submission as research papers. Any academic work produced by students at Ibero-American schools and faculties of architecture and supervised by faculty may be submitted, regardless of the topic, course, or the nationality of the student or instructor. Submissions will be evaluated based on their quality and contribution to the academic field, and all disciplines are welcome.
