The Institute of Architecture and Urbanism at the Universidad Austral de Chile (UACh) invites all architects in Chile to apply for the 2020 Marta Scheu Award. ArchDaily is the official media partner for this competition, which aims to recognize women who have made significant contributions to architecture and urbanism.
For the fifth consecutive year, this award will be presented to women—regardless of nationality, age, or profession—who have contributed through their work to the fields of architecture and urbanism. Candidates are evaluated based on their impact in social, disciplinary, sustainability, or other relevant areas that are significant to the development of Chile.
Marta Scheu Torres (1970-2013) was an academic at the Institute of Architecture and Urbanism at the Universidad Austral de Chile. Between 2000 and 2013, she made distinguished contributions to teaching and timber architecture in the Los Ríos region.
