Proyectar a Conciencia is a competition that emphasizes the modernization of existing buildings through non-intrusive passive solutions, such as EIFS continuous exterior insulation technologies.
The competition was motivated by the urgent need to reduce energy consumption in the existing building stock to meet contemporary environmental goals, such as those set by the COP, the Kyoto Protocol, and the European "2020" targets. This is further underscored by the fact that 98% of all construction in Chile does not meet the current thermal standards defined by the O.G.U.C. (General Ordinance of Urbanism and Construction).
