Two Romanian Students Have Won the Troldtekt Award

The jury panel has selected two students from the ‘Ion Mincu’ University of Architecture and Urbanism (UAUIM) in Bucharest as winners of the Troldtekt Award and a EUR 5,000 prize. Both the runners-up prize and the special prize go to students from Iran.

Open Call: Troldtekt Launches Wood Wool Awards 2015

International manufacturer of wood wool panels, Troldtekt, has announced the opening of its Wood Wool Award 2015, celebrating the 80th anniversary of the company. Open to entries from September 14 to October 16, 2015, the competition will recognize two projects that best implement visible wood wool acoustic solutions: one that uses wood wool panels not manufactured by Troldtekt, and one project featuring Troldtekt cement-bonded wood wool panels.

The jury features Mikkel Frost (CEBRA), David Gianotten (OMA) and ArchDaily’s own, David Basulto. The two selected projects will receive an award of €5,000, and interested architects and designers can submit their projects via ArchDaily.

DIY Materials Concept Wins Troldtekt Award 2014

115 entries from 39 countries! This was the number of architectural and design students who entered this year’s international concept competition – the Troldtekt Award 2014. The EUR 5,000 prize was won by three students from Escuela Superior de Arquitectura in Guadalajara (Mexico) for their project Troldtekt Raw. The jury was so impressed with the overall quality of the entries that three special prizes were also awarded, while a further four projects received honourable mentions.

Troldtekt Award 2014 Now Launched

Honour, glory and cash are at stake as Troldtekt A/S invites architectural and design students from all over the world to participate in the Troldtekt Award 2014. The most creative idea for using the company’s acoustic panels in a different and imaginative way wins a cash prize of EUR 5,000. The deadline for registering for the competition is 1 April 2014.

For the third time, Troldtekt A/S is challenging young talents to propose new ways of using its classic Danish-produced acoustic panels in the concept competition Troldtekt Award 2014. The competition last took place in 2012, when Troldtekt received entries from 23 countries. The 2012 competition was awarded to Matthias Kisch from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen who won EUR 5,000 for his Acoustic Synecdoche project, an acoustic cloud sculpture with the option of integrated lighting. The judges also presented a special supplementary prize to Amy Linford from Newcastle University for her (Fabric)ated project.

1st Prize Winner - ‘Acoustic Synecdoche’

Matthias Kisch from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and Amy Linford from Newcastle University have won first and special awards respectively in this year’s Troldtekt Award just announced. Architectural and design students from 23 countries entered the concept competition, submitting an extensive array of creative and original ideas about how Troldtekt’s traditional acoustic panels can be used.
