The World Architecture Festival (WAF) revealed the 420 shortlist for this year’s festival, with entries from all around the world, including Portugal, Malaysia, Finland, Mexico, Turkey, Australia, Japan, India, and the UK. The awards program celebrates the best new completed buildings and landscape design projects, ranging from rural villas to contemporary religious buildings and healthcare facilities built during the pandemic.

Sanjay Puri Architects Designs Stepped Volume with Green Terraces for Prestige University Building in India

Sanjay Puri Architects has designed a new building for the Prestige University in Indore, a stepped massing with green terraces that blends with the landscape. Currently under construction within the 32-acre university campus, the project echoes traditional Indian architecture through its use of red brick and contextual adaptation to the local climate. The morphology creates an outdoor amphitheatre for students and faculty, while the interweaving of indoor and outdoor spaces is meant to foster engagement and social interaction.

Sanjay Puri on the Potential and the Challenges of Architecture in India

During the World Architecture Festival in Amsterdam, ArchDaily sat down with Sanjay Puri who discussed his starting point, the architectural possibilities presented in India, and the oppositions faced by architects in his country. He also spoke of the importance of building in your context and not copying the past or the built environment in other parts of the earth.

With an office of more than 70, in Mumbai, Sanjay Puri Architects are currently working on several new ventures including education, residential, offices, hotel, and hospitality projects.

World Architecture Festival Announces Judges for 2016

The World Architecture Festival (WAF), the largest international gathering of architects, has announced its judges for 2016. The annual event, consisting of awards, a conference, and an exhibition, recognizes outstanding projects in a variety of categories, and is attended by over 2,000 visitors from 65 countries. This year's festival will be held from November 16-18, 2016 at Arena Berlin in Germany.
