Richard Meier Tops Out on Florida Beach "Surf Club"

Richard Meier & Partners has topped out on their Four Season’s expansion to the historic Russell Pancoast-designed “Surf Club” in Florida. Scheduled to complete next year, the luxury hospitality and residential project is comprised of two, 12-story towers, offering 150 private units, alongside an 80-room hotel on 9-acres of Surfside oceanfront property. Richard Meier & Partners Unveils Their First Building in Taiwan

Richard Meier & Partners has revealed their first ever building in Taiwan, a 163-meter apartment building close to the center of Taichung. Offering 110 apartments with views over Taichung City Hall, the Opera House, and the Convention Center, the tower is composed of two towers connected by a central circulation core. The north tower is the taller section, with a geometric appearance that responds to the more built-up area to the north of the building. The south tower, which faces an area of smaller-scale residential buildings, features an expressive facade of translucent glass.

Richard Meier Designs Two-Tower Residential Development for Bogota

Richard Meier & Partners has unveiled designs for their first project in Bogota: Vitrvm. Conceptualized as two towers united at the base, the new 13-story residential development will provide 36 apartments along Septima Avenue in the north section of the city. 

“The project is contextually inspired by the beauty of its immediate surroundings,” described the architects. “It aims to reflect and to engage the beautiful gardens and large trees at the Chico Park and the Seminario Mayor,” one of the largest and most important seminaries in Colombia.

Richard Meier Unveils First Florida Beach Project, Now Underway

Richard Meier will be adding his mark to Greater Miami with the completion of a Four Season’s expansion to the historic Russell Pancoast-designed “Surf Club” in 2016, located in Surfside. Already under construction, the luxury hospitality and residential project will include two, 12-story residential towers, offering 150 private units, alongside an 80-room hotel on 9-acres of pristine oceanfront property. A members-only club, restaurants, spa and other amenities will be included on site, connected to each other via an expansive park and oceanside gardens. 

Richard Meier Unveils 180-Meter Tower Development in Mexico

Richard Meier & Partners has unveiled the “Reforma Towers,” a 40-story, mixed use development planned for Mexico City’s historic Paseo de la Reforma. Comprised of two high-rise towers, clad in Meier’s signature white concrete, the new development will bring high end office, hotel, and retail space, as well as restaurants and a fitness center to the city’s distinguished Boulevard upon completion in 2015.

Resort Hotel and Spa Proposal / Richard Meier & Partners

Richard Meier & Partners just broke ground on the 150-room HH Resort Hotel and Spa, which is their first project in South Korea. Located in Gangneung, the new resort complex will be a one-of-a-kind boutique hotel composed of elegant guestrooms, a world class restaurant and a wellness spa that reflect the local culture, a banquet hall, amphitheater, exhibition hall, beach house and various amenities. Italcementi i.lab / Richard Meier & Partners

From the architect. Our friends at Richard Meier & Partners have shared with us their latest completed project: Italcementi i.lab in Bergamo, Italy. The building, a new research and development center for Italcementi, one of the top five cement manufacturers in the world, is a showcase for sustainable design, already attaining one of the first LEED Platinum accreditations in Italy.  

According to the firm, Italcementi i.lab reflects not only the company’s commitment to sustainability but also “the company’s position of leadership, technological advancement and commitment to research and innovation in the use of concrete.”

In the Press Release, Dukho Yeon, Design Partner-in-charge, describes the project: “i.lab is our firm’s most sustainable building to date embodied in sculptural and dramatic, but simple forms showcasing the possibilities of concrete in perfect balance with the technical purpose of the building.”
