CONTEST FOR ART RESIDENCY GRANTS IN OFICINAS DO CONVENTO
Applications are open for the Art Residency Grants in Oficinas do Convento - Cultural Association for Art and Communication (OC) in Montemor-o-Novo, Portugal. We have launched three vacancies for Art Residencies to take place between September and December 2016.
This Contest for Grants by OC intends to implement a self-funded programme through the application fees. The application have a 20 euros fee and this amount will be used to create the three Residencies.

The EDP Foundation has announced that MAAT, the Museum of Art, Architecture, and Technology in Lisbon, will open to the public on October 4-5. The museum, with a new kunsthall building designed by AL_A, will “become the centerpiece of one of the Portuguese capital’s most popular cultural areas, the historic riverside district of Belém."
Portugal has unveiled the theme of its contribution to the 2016 Venice Biennale: “Neighborhood – Where Alvaro Meets Aldo.” Curated by Nuno Grande, a Portugese architect, teacher, critic, and curator, and Roberto Cremascoli, an Italian architect and longtime collaborator of Álvaro Siza Vieira, the exhibition will focus on the works of both Álvaro Siza and Aldo Rossi.
The Portuguese exhibition is unique in that it will be installed on Venice’s Giudecca island, where Siza’s 1985 social housing project Campo di Marte is located. Campo di Marte is part of a larger plan on the island, which includes designs by other architects such as Aldo Rossi, and was never fully completed.
Alves captures emblematic national architecture projects in addition to work by prominent architects worldwide, “fusing the vision of the architect” with that of the photographer. He is also known for his “Archilapse” videos, which feature timelapse montages of architectural works.

The Lisbon Architecture Triennale has announced the list of 14 Associated Projects that will be included in the upcoming 4th edition, The Form of Form. The projects were selected from 73 proposals, 29 of which were from international participants. "These 14 events will expand the main program and present captivating ideas on venues that highlight the diversity of Lisbon's landscape," noted chief curator André Tavares.
Aiming to "stimulate and deepen the debate around a large spectrum of contemporary views on today's architectural practice," Form of Form seeks to "highlight currents of thought important for the production of architecture in a social context in constant transformation."
