Duckett House / John Pardey Architects

John Pardey Architects sent us this great second house on the village of Burley, . The concept was based on the idea of creating a building that respects the nature of vernacular buildings by avoiding a single form in favour of what may be seen as an assemblage of forms, akin to the typology of farm buildings.

Uniqlo Megastore / Curiosity

Curiosity has completed the design of the Uniqlo Megastore that has opened near Shinjuku station in . The new design is strongly influenced by the urban landscape and the large entrance, marked with three display towers, recreates a mini-Shinjuku city. As the lighting floor wraps the towers in a glow of light that illuminates the surrounding streets, the shop becomes an active element of the street: attractive, reliable, and secure. The new Uniqlo Megastore adds a civic dimension to its commercial purpose.

H house / Group 41

Architecture and design firm Group 41 Inc. is proud to unveil the H House, a modern architectural residence whose design is informed by the crisp language of modernism and shaped by the principals of sustainability. In a city like where a moratorium on demolition limits most construction projects to being creative renditions of a renovation, a new, ground-up construction is a rarity. Rectilinear and angular, the H House is architect/developer Joel Karr’s first ground-up development property and represents a welcomed opportunity to express ′s own distinctive brand of modernist design.

Top 100 US Architecture Firms according to Architect Magazine

Architect Magazine listed the Top 100 U.S. firms based not just on their size, but on three elemental and critical aspects of each one: profitability (revenue per employee, based on 2008 gross revenue), sustainability (with variables such as percentage of LEED projects in 2008 and green policies) and design quality (based on awards on 2008).

Some of this practice have been featured on ArchDaily like Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, Perkins Eastman & SHoP Architects.

Take a look at the complete ranking after the break.
