[...] Talk about living on the edge. The Rooftecture S home in Shioya Tarumi-ku Kobe, Hyogo-Pref., Japan is built on the base of the cliff facing the Setonaikai Sea. Designed by architect Shuhei Endo, the home makes a brilliant use of the site’s constraints and turns them into assets of the home. The retaining wall of the hill acts as an inner wall for the walkway, while the narrowness contributes to the interior’s close knit feel. Check after the jump for more images. Link [...]

Soory Frix, I really like the houses you postes in those links. But I'm thinking that you don't see the surface of this plot. House in romeiro is quite big, bruner house is almost like this one. I think it is a good respone with this design to this plot.

I would love to see more interior of this building. It seems as if this house and it's presentation tries to hide something... Maybe it is just another architectural "magazine sculpture" but if so - It's a damn good looking piece of art!

[...] Located in an old residential home in Shioya Tarumi-ku Kobe, Japan, the small home you see above is a great example of what innovation can do. Designed Endo Shuhei Architects the house stands out from the crowd thanks to its roof, which certainly is something you ain’t going to see every day. Facing the sea, the thin house was forced to use a triangular roof because of its site, with those steep slopes. And I must say they managed to maximize space with a brilliant idea. It’s like doing something out of what seems like nothing, and the Japanese seem to be doing good on that topic. - via [...]

Endo does some great work. I love the slenderness/delicacy of this project. It deviates a bit from the formal language used in his older projects - still stunning none the less.
