I don’t get the ‘mess of sticks’ either – why put big windows there, if you’re just going to obscure them like that? Though in this case, it seems to be a screen to guard against stray footballs.

and what about long term maintenance of the facade?
if we were to do such things over ere (Malta) we’d be shot dead!
