The floor plays a big part. It almost has the effect of looking like an ocean; maybe part of what feels so weird is that it approximates the effect of being on a boat in the middle of an ocean. However it’s working, it’s a psychologically charged space, and I’m not sure how that mixes with shooting arrows. Maybe put a few tables and chairs in the middle and it’s a high-end restaurant.

I had to check a few times to make sure these were photos of a built project and not renders. That vivid marbled floor texture is a bit bizarre, I think I’d get a headache if I was standing in that space too long! That main space seems strangely scaleless and unreal with that big unbroken expanse and bleached-out lighting.

For some reason, it reminds me of old computer games. With the floor being a big flat open surface and having a repetitive texture.

I like it :D but I think the floor would drive me mad haha

I think this building is great! It is practical with a well thought out lighting solution which is critical to its use.

This seems like a strangely moody place to practice archery. It’s beautiful, but it seems otherworldly in a way I don’t understand in relationship to the building’s use.
