The Pavilion is located in the Botanical Garden of University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj, surrounded by ochards. The new building includes a ruin represented by a stone wall parasited by some small construction, which were proposed for demolition.

Conceived as a multifunctional building, with an educational and research profile, the Germplasm Pavilion is hosting a conference room, guest accommodations, laboratories and a small library. The architectural solution makes the new building a bridge between the natural and built elements of the site, thought as a descreet presence that highlights the stone wall and in the same time intserts new different and surprising spaces.

Ma bucur mult sa vad avans de calitate in arhitectura romaneasca. Am asteptat cu nerabdare sa vad pe acest site ceva de la mine din tara. Felicitari la fiecare persoana imlicata, stiu ca nu a fost ieftin si nu putini au pus mana la lucru, sincere felicitari!!!

Alaltaieri cautam ceva pe google earth – in zona centrala a Clujului. La un moment dat, ajuns in perimetrul Fac. de Agronomie, mi-am amintit de prezentarea “IN SITU” din cadrul ZA09. Mizand pe ortofotoplanul destul de actual, am gasit constructia, din pacate fara imagini panoramio.

Mi-a facut o extraordinara placere sa regasesc proiectul pe ArchDaily – tratarea sitului, a contextului este una exemplara(cred totusi, ca reprezentarea fotografica a situatiei existente ar fi facut si mai pregnanta intelegerea gradului de interventie si a creativitatii/efortului depus in realizarea proiectului).

Sincere felicitari, tot asa inainte!
