Instead of a plain and uncritical enforcement of the regulation in force, this project, a roof recovery for housing purposes, represents a real, direct and conscious occasion to realize a small urban architecture.

The new building develops on the one hand the theme of the house on the roof, on the other hand the completion one.

From a typological and formal point of view, the new volume keeps a relative autonomy in respect to the characteristics of the building below.

However the new architecture assumes, as starting point, the distinctive decorations and materials of the original construction period. In particular, the chromatic choice, the walls and roof covering define the research of a new type of continuity and familiarity with regard to the past, though keeping a strictly contemporary language.
