Hong Kong Exhibition, 15th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia

The Hong Kong Exhibition at the 15th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia (Venice Biennale) will have its Opening Ceremony on 28th May 2016 in Venice (Preview period from 26th to 27th May). Mr. Stanley SIU, the Chief Curator of the Hong Kong Exhibition, together with his team of 16 young architects and artists for this initiative.

In response to the title of the 15th Venice Biennale International Architecture Exhibition ‘REPORTING FROM THE FRONT’, the theme of the Hong Kong Exhibition is inspired by the Chinese Classic “Thirty-Six Stratagems”. Regarding the definition of ‘Frontier’ in Hong Kong, Stanley and his team are looking into the Thirty-Six Stratagems and select one stratagem to demonstrate how he or she would succeed in their own battleground at the frontier of architecture or art. Steered by the Stratagems in Architecture, the exhibition will address the public needs and challenges faced by architects in the current social climate through 13 exhibits in connection with the community’s desire for conservation, environmental protection, the demand for space and proper urban planning.
