As a skater and architectural designer I simply want to express my concern that this proposal is pointless bad for many reasons. First of all, the “super pipe” is physically unskateable. Besides, filling the flat of a ramp with other skate program simply makes the ramp all the more useless.
Don’t use skateboarding to make your new urban typology project “cooler” – talk to skaters and do some research on what works. Skaters are incredibly creative with the build environment, and will try to skate anything, but designing a mega ramp is just plain silly.
