Text description provided by the architects. The Project of the residential building BERUTTI 160 was designed from the desire of architects to market apartments with contemporary architecture. In a real estate market where the vast majority of residential apartments are very similar, creating something new for people who appreciate architecture was the main objective of the project.

Located in a residential area of Porto Alegre city, the building seeks to integrate the environment in which it is situated.

The building is divided into two equal blocks of four floors each, with one of the blocks facing João Berutti Street, while the other faces the back. Even the back apartments have great views due to the steep nature of the adjacent land. The common walking areas conect the two blocks.

Each block consists of an apartment on the first floor and two duplex apartments on the second and third floors. One of the duplex apartments has a roof terrace which allows for a privileged view of the city.

As each block is composed of three individually designed apartments, the formal result is an asymmetrical facade, making the building with the appearance of a house. The fact that the apartments are totally different also provides accommodation for families with different needs dwell in the same place.

The garage and the entrance hall are located on the ground floor.  Durable materials such as solid wood and brick were used in the construction, which were chosen in view of local man-power expertise and low maintenance costs. These materials also exhibit the residential character of the building.  All apartments have cross ventilation and large PVC windows frames that provide excellent natural lighting.
