AD Round Up: Green Roof Part IV

Doesn’t matter if it’s a medical technology campus, a residence, a housing project, or a public facility. The looks amazing in this projects from all over the world. Check them all after the break.

Becton Dickinson Campus Center / RMJM
The Campus Center at BD (Becton Dickinson and Company), a medical technology company that serves healthcare institutions, life science researchers, clinical laboratories, industry and the general public, is a 38,500-square-foot facility that bridges and blurs the boundaries between building/landscape, indoor/outdoor, roof/earth, figure/ground, and the two local business cultures of management/production (read more…)

Rio de Janeiro Residence / TAMABI
Two basic principles guided our project for the construction of a new penthouse foor to house a single 234-square-meter apartment, located at the base of the Corcovado Mountain in Rio de Janeiro’s forested Jardim Botânico neighborhood. The first was a demand for an open space with the least possible amount of internal subdivisions, with the intent to provide good cross ventilation and establish continuity between the interior areas and the surrounding landscape (read more…)

Hof Residence / Studio Granda
Hof is a country residence in the Skagafjörður fjord, less than 100km from the Arctic Circle. The spectacle of the location, its remoteness and special program fuelled a unique rapport between the client, contractor and architect resulting in a building that is in every respect a direct consequence of that collaboration. The existing assemblage of buildings on the estate included a house, church, barn and cowshed clustered on a riverbank (read more…)

Mountain Dwellings / BIG with JDS
The Mountain Dwellings are the 2nd generation of the VM Houses – same client, same size and same street. The program, however, is 2/3 parking and 1/3 living. What if the parking area became the base upon which to place terraced housing – like a concrete hillside covered by a thin layer of housing, cascading from the 11th floor to the street edge? Rather than doing two separate buildings next to each other (read more…)

Senior Citizen Community Center / F451 Arquitectura
This proposal is based on the redefinition of ready-made components and their assembly to try to optimize the environmental performance of the building as well as the possibility of recycling used elements. The building was based on dry construction, except the ground, and formally displayed in such a way that increases its capability to interact with the surroundings-both architecturally and environmentally (read more…)
