Guests are invited to meet with Joe at the reThink Wood booth to discuss developments in mass timber architecture and ask questions about his research.

As steel skyscrapers give way to wood structures, the urban landscape has changed dramatically. More and more designers are embracing the benefits of timber, so five- and six-story wood buildings are rising up among traditional concrete and steel shells.

This session will offer an overview of the structural systems, design strategies, and code paths that are helping to expand the use of wood framing in mid-rise construction including case studies from around North America, and a look at research and development underway supporting tall wood buildings up to 30 or more stories within a generation. Attendees should be prepared to ask and answer questions!
