1111 Lincoln Road / Herzog & de Meuron This mixed use project is currently being built at the corner of Alton and Lincoln, one of the most active pedestrian areas in the city, and it will include residences, retail spaces and parking. Water-Cooled House / Wallflower Architecture + Design Hidden away from the road, the site is surrounded by a verdant screen of mature trees from adjacent properties. Breezes blowing transversely across the site being another notable aspect of the location. Denmark Pavilion, Shanghai Expo 2010 / BIG The Denmark Pavilion was one of the first ones we presented you, almost a year ago. The project, designed by BIG with ARUP and 2+1, was interesting not only from an architectural and structural point of view, but also for the danish spirit it represents. Business School and Teaching Complex / FJMT + Archimedia Our inspiration for this project was drawn directly from the fusion of natural landscape, urban form and heritage of cultural exchange and flow that characterise this beautiful site at the edge of the campus, overlooking Auckland Harbour and the Auckland Domain. BAC Doering Center / Spillman Farmer Architects Spillman Farmer Architects has completed the new multidisciplinary Doering Science Building for Bryn Athyn College, a small liberal arts and science college in Pennsylvania where the average class size is just ten students. Placed near the early 20th century Bryn Athyn Cathedral, the new college building is designed to complement the site and to adhere to the college’s mission: to enhance students’ civil, moral, and spiritual life (read more…)
