Text description provided by the architects. Architecture can always be more than architecture, the building designed for the Catholic University of Peru arises from this principle, to establish an enhanced program, generated by links that from a spatial typological dissonance, recreate events and alternative occurrences to the program.

Section

From its location, the Science and Engineering Classroom Building is framed in a very specific circumstance generated by a direct relationship with a heritage site, as it is located opposite the Inca Trail that for many years remained outside of university life, so the project assumes the task, from the beginning, of integrating, rediscovering and revaluing it.

The project reflects on the possibility of encounter by inserting different spaces, activating the building's life outside the classroom. It explores the insertion of the staircase as generator of spatial and visual relations, extending the idea of stairs. The building also has also been designed with a seismic isolation system, which defines it spatially, while the wind deforms the silhouette of its parapets, this is a building molded and generated from its circumstances.
