Text description provided by the architects. The house is located in Mishima-shi, Shizuoka, on the slope overlooking Mount Fuji, and it is only 30% of 250 square meters of sites was flat. It was necessary to create more flat area that single family could live. In addition, the client disliked a high building, and it was necessary to design a building low.
At first we dug soil to the halfway of the slope and it was for the basement floor which is constructed with concrete. Then, the wooden floor is rode on the basement floor.
The wooden first floor overhangs the slope 5 meters. This part is cantilevered with steel beams.
