Hill of Water / Suppose Design Office

Suppose Design Office designed a renovation proposal for the Hill of Water and Sculpture in .  The project is situated in an industrial area along the Tokyo Bay.  In the proposal, existing structures are converted into individual tower like sculptures.  The sculptures meet the ground in an interesting manner, as each rests upon a curved base.   The structures are connected to the existing beams located in the industrial area and the building’s varying heights create a balanced composition.  The interior spaces are formed around the existing infrastructure and create a new type of space for people to experience the existing components of the site, in addition to the new sculptures.

More images after the break.

As seen on designboom.

I like “suppouse”, but this project looks like soviet (russian) architecture by 70-th. May be these pictures not complete yet…?

    I find that’s a little hash…

If the drawing’s/image’s were more indicative of the real world it would come across better I think, but I’m no expert.

Love the people, love the project x

It’s nothing like Russian architecture in the 70′s. And there’s nothing wrong with Russian architecture in the 70′s.

Rob.i says:

I find it very delicate. I like the project and I think that the graphic solutions adopted want to communicate the wish to create new spaces maintaining at the same time a little of the old structures decadence.

Klaus says:

i quite like the plan and the concept…but i really don’t get the shape of the walls, and the fact that while they keep the old structure they totally ignore its direction and shape..

that's what she says:

love the “cartoonish” representation, fun….but the project seems quite conceptual, like a student’s idea

it’s always nice to see fresh and new ideas which to me this appears to be, and the “conceptual” appearance is not too far away , in my opinion, from being buildable.
