Villa is situated in an old fishermen village near Tallinn in Viimsi peninsula. The shape has been derived from sea side stack of boulders. More firm and traditional facade is exposed to the street. The courtyard is more expressive,wild, opened, communicating.

The master key of the plan solution is the butterfly tie shaped main axes of the winter garden. It is surrounded by the rooms which compose traditional Estonian home- living room, kitchen, bedrooms, guest room, study, sauna.

The external walls and roof use tarres larch shingles. Southern wall is of white .

The wooden surfaces in the yard maily consists of untreated laurch.

almost like a more laid-back version of aunin’s hi-tech house in nõmme. but it still is lavish: some of the auxiliary rooms here are bigger than my apt’s living room, ha. (then again, i do live in a freakish building.)

btw, i’m not an architect so i’d like to know if it’s being taught at universities whether doors in a hallway should open into a room or to the hallway? does it matter?

i wonder if the ‘glass box’ will eventually fit in with the rest of the building. i kind of have some doubts about how it will look when finished.

oh, and ffs please stop commenting on the renderings. who cares if they’re not as artsy-fartsy as the ones by (or done for) big offices.
