Zaha Hadid and Norman Foster Tapped to Design Luxury Hotels in China

Zaha Hadid and Norman Foster have been tapped to design two luxury hotels for the Jumeirah Group's newest properties in China: Jumeirah Wuhan and Jumeirah Nanjing. Both properties will be adjacent to existing business districts and will provide luxury suites, specialty restaurants, executive club lounges, business centers, spas and more.

Zaha Hadid Architects is currently working on the Jumeirah Nanjing’s 250-room, five-star hotel in the new Hexi business district, just an hour outside of Shanghai, with completion slated for 2016.

Foster + Partners will be working on a 200-room luxury hotel within the high-end, mixed-use Jumeirah Wuhan development planned near the existing Hankou business district. It is expected to open by 2020.

A third property, Jumeirah Haikou Resort, which hopes to become the “Hawaii of China,” will be designed by Kuala Lumpur-based Denniston International and constructed on a 136 hectare private island in Hainan by 2019. It will include 60 villas and 140 luxury hotel rooms.
