Located in a residential neighborhood in Sorocaba, this residence marks a local horizon due to its volumes.

Composed of two overlapping volumes, the house derives from the intention to free up the largest possible area for living spaces and give fluidity to its occupation. To dynamize the project, the upper floor was removed from the lower volume causing half the house to seem to float on the site.

With the intention of ensuring influx of natural lighting and ventilation, the project has large openings on the facades and roof, that also contribute to the composition of its main facades. Downstairs, the living room can be completely opened to the garden by sliding glass panels, creating an extension of the home to the outside and making the environments mix. To ensure the privacy of the bedrooms, on the top floor openings are protected by wooden shutters painted white, beyond the glass on the inner wall.

The architects prioritize spatial richness. As for the materials, interior and exterior walls are white, with a difference in the textures of the environments. Interior floors are finished with granilite and mediate between the interior and the exterior, bringing the garden into the house and vice versa. The horizontal and vertical circulations receive natural light through vertical openings, turning these spaces into a small gallery exhibiting art objects and everyday life. These aspects give the house a plastic result of contemporary identity.

Built on a site 7 by 22 meters, the structural mesh was designed in order to release the maximum possible ground, the play of volumes resulted in a reinforced concrete girder that runs through the side of the house, measuring 14 meters.
