Tadao Ando Designs Luxury Residential Building in New York

Tadao Ando has unveiled designs of his latest project, a 7 story luxury residential project in Manhattan. The building at 152 Elizabeth Street is Ando's first in New York, and includes his signature design features of simple cubic forms, polished in-situ concrete and curtain glass.

The building will include 8 luxury apartments ranging between 1,900 to 5,000 square feet each, and will also feature a large roof terrace with a reflection pool. The interiors of the building will be designed by New York-based firm Gabellini Sheppard Associates.

Amit Khurana, Founding Partner of the project's developer Sumaida + Khurana, stated: "Our collaboration with Tadao Ando and Michael Gabellini on 152 Elizabeth Street demonstrates our vision to elevate residential living, while thoughtfully and profoundly improving upon the built environment."

Construction is intended to begin in the coming months, with completion scheduled for 2016.
