Would you live in it?

There are more angles to homelessness then an expensive curved pod.

Nice design but not practical.. especially for homeless people.

I am curious as to what a sleepbox costs to manufacture? How much are people being charged by the hour? And what percentage are airports getting off the top for renting out the space and percentage wise? Interesting concept.

These sleepboxes are fabulous! Not only in airports, train stations, but it would really be good in universities, at work offices, in hospital.... During the day, we should rest or sleep for at least half an hour... we often feel sleepy after a good lunch, but there is never a place where it is calm and cushy... I hope these sleepboxes have sound-isolation walls, because it is very noisy in airports, stations... they should include an alarm clock in it too (not to miss the bording time or the next class!)

can someone point me out any webpages or books where i can see details concerning the ventilation/sound proof aspects of the project and how they work?

i am working on a similar project, but i want it to be in wood, so that is more intimate and human, but i am having trouble solving the problem of simultaneously have no sound entering the space and air entering it...

first: this box should have a sliding door instead of the swing type installed.. we don't want any one to get his face kicked when passing by..
second: the interior textures should rather look more intimate than this fancy glossy interior..
third: this box should not look like it's portable like it does look now.. but should better look more steady and fixed.. that (I think) may give a better feeling..
but it's a very good concept.. very human.. and I think will be merged into the structure of the building by the course of time..

I was wondering about the sound-proofing as well. That's a much bigger concern than having a washroom included in the unit. Really, what would be better... trying to sleep in the main concourse on a row of mass seating, or shelling out a bit of cash for you (and your travelling companion) to get some decent rest. In my opinion, even without the free snacks aspect, this is even better than the business class lounge arrangement in most airports. As long as its kept clean between users, I think its an excellent concept!
