i like the overall conception and plan of this building but the main facade is a disaster…it feels/looks awkward-trying to be cool and nonchalant but not succeeding…

Nice. It may be a bit stuffy and even crowded like the comments above suggest, but the finishes and materials are kind of cool. It looks a bit different without being so, as taken from the floor plan. I don’t know about living there, it would depend on the neighbors, but if only to have it as an urbanite crash pad, it sure sounds intriguing.

W/ a name like “The Hollywood,” I would not expect too much, normally. But this project seems to live up to the unrealistic aspirations suggested by the term “Hollywood” – particularly due to the external “framing” achieved by the crisp, white outer dimensions, which heighten the warmth and texture of the wood-cladding inserts. It also possesses enough “randomly” organized windows that, although not quixotic, at least avoids the banal regularity that afflicts other rectangular structures of this type and function.
