Text description provided by the architects. As a simple origami cube, the project is set up as a continuous skin of black granite that surrounds the five faces of parallelepiped established at the beginning of the project, a box with four walls and a continuous cover, wraps the edges and planes of the different levels of housing.

The house is located in the district of San Gervasi Barcelona, precisely in the curve of a sloping street, so the gradual discovery of black granite skin, was a determining factor. The project was commissioned to respond to two separate dwellings, the first for customer and second for the son; that were set at three levels, ground floor and first floor to the first, and the basement for independent living.

This conformation differentiated program must provide outdoor reading, why black skin becomes independent granitic basement, using a continuous-run window extent determined by what the ordinance allows,1.00m below the ground level, a tool that enables and provides buoyancy and independence to the various parts of the project.

General access is available to the natural coordinate existing street. Accessing the perimeter of the house space offers sequential read results, related to the surrounding context. Topography plays an important role in interior-exterior tour of the house, offering different areas depending on where you are located.

From the standpoint of construction project has an innovative structural system using an orthogonal metal frame and embedded in the walls of self-compacting concrete (HAC), representing a concrete example of the new material in residential construction site, which led the project to be a finalist in the Catalonia Construction Awards 2009, in the category of Innovation in Construction. The finish of the facade is riding through a ventilated facade system of natural stone placed on metal battens fixed to the sturdy wall.
