before i read the comment above, i would like to make a mundane comment, that is the building design looked very Japanese contemporary…!big have the same point of view with me!Besides, as mention in the statement ‘…the site is clearly not an ideal choice for a household with 3 grown up children…’, is it because the area is a crime-prone area??? Let the kid explore their lovely neighborhood in their way will probably help the kid grow up in a healthier way instead of fence up the building, building great wall and choose not to communicate with the neighbor!

This architecture looks good only in distant, guess the details are not coming in the first place.
Learn somethin from Japanese architect such as Suppose or Sanaa pleaseee.

Like the recently posted Singapore renovation, this project deftly uses a single plant – this time a tree on the outside – to soften the hard, starkly-colored surfaces of the home. I wish there was similar softening agent on the inside, but otherwise think the project is not bad indeed.
