The arrival of a new member for a young married couple led them to take a room located in an irregular shaped lot of 26 feet of frontage and 46m deep, which functions as a small area of social housing, and aims to equip the new enclosure to fully satisfy the desires and expectations of the growing family. What caught our attention was the double-height space where was originally located the living room, and we decided to keep it as a witness of time.

Once you enter this house, the social areas emerge in front of you, while we sense the existence of private spaces on top. Social areas, which lie in the lower part, are facing the outside. The kitchen is on the west side, and has access to the terrace which extends to the pool and deck for events. This has a wooden floor and folding shutter doors. The upper floor consists of a family area that connects the kitchen with the three children’s bedrooms and the master bedroom.

Fun was the experience of working with someone who dares to use a color as controversial as the red, which is present in the volcanic rock of the house, like the floors of the outer room and in the kitchen. Beech and Oak were used to give the final touches to set contrast. The project is conceived as something very private. Wood emphasizes the linearity and continuity of the space, and serves to define lighting and sound facilities. The participation of a great team of excellent designers resulted in a product that we are proud of.
