All it takes is a discerning eye, a vision and the commitment to see that vision through. The Kraanspoor in Amsterdam, Netherlands is the perfect example of that. Designed by OTH, the Kraanspoor sits on top of an abandoned shipping craneway. The original concrete structure serves as the foundation for the three-storey steel construction, with actual steel poles holding the building in place, making the offices appear as though they’re floating. Hierdie is ‘n baie interresante gebou. Ou vervalle industriele areas in veral Suid Afrika het hierdie tipe ontwikkeling nodig. Dit maak sin vanuit ‘n volhoubare; ekonomiese en sosiale oogpunt. Ek hou daarvan dat die oorspronklike industriele karakter van die struktuur behou en gekommunikeer is.
