Text description provided by the architects. Located in the Altavista subdivision, at the mouth of the Catapilco valley, this work presents an austere housing solution for a second home. The client, who’s a producer and director, wanted innovation but at low cost. That is why the idea of the project arose from the basic geometric figure of the "Box", placing the private bedrooms on one side and other services on the other. This allows the inhabitant to traverse the space continuously, like a train, without need of orientation or spatial relation.

Its basic structure consists of a crosslinked truss which runs diagonal to the 5 x 20 meter floor. As it progresses towards its midpoint, it lowers, generating two sloped triangular roofs.

The smaller beams that support the roofs are “anchored” to this central beam, much like the fishing boats that used to be seen on our shores.

For the exterior we opted for something simple and low maintenance, an asphalt skin, which allowed for a continuous lining.
