In the context of the construction of the new administrative building for the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, the architects have planned the establishment of a creche and day nursery to accommodate 60 children. The establishment of the creche benefits from the merits of the site, it’s wooded part.

The site is bordered by listed trees (obviously preserved) and other trees, which will be incorporated in the final design. The creche will thus become a small area, a shelter and a highly personal yet selective intervention in nature. Access to the creche will be via Allee Kastner.

This access will be under surveillance and be used for various purposes, including routing towards the general car park. At the approaches to the creche, a vehicle zone in front of the outside parking will facilitate the children being dropped off and collected away from the traffic.
