Located on a prominent corner of Bainbridge Island, Washington, the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art is not only the anchor tenant of the Island Gateway development, but it will soon become the cultural center of its community. Designed by Coates Design Architects, an inspiring and creative experience is provided to residents and visitors alike. More images and architects’ description after the break.

Along with its collection of artworks from the Pacific Northwest region of the United States, the museum will also feature special travelling exhibits from all over the world. The museum is an educational institution whose mission is to engage a diverse population with the art of the region and time. The Museum will exhibit, interpret, preserve, collect, and promote works of proven cultural value as well as new works by emerging artists and craftspeople.
