Auditorium and Congress Center / Menis Arquitectos
Fernando Menis, of Spanish practice Menis Arquitectos, has been announced the winner of the design of an auditorium and congress center for Morro Jable. Taking inspiration from the rocky hillside site above the beaches, Menis describes the design as “a piece which recalls a broken rock, coming away from earth.”

The building, embedded in the terrain, emerges through the excavation creating a strong geometric presence. Textures, colors and finishes help emphasize the earthly tone of the structure and make it appear to be a part of the site.
The center is regarded “a sponge building, able to adapt to different situations and events, flexible, equipped with well balanced acoustics also prepared for different types of events, designed for low energy and maintaining costs.”

I think Menis is drifting lately… In a good way
Menis is one of the last real architects… very talented. I love his Work.
i don’t know if he’s the last real architec…but defenitely should stop doing those renderings…stick the to models.
nice composition in plans.
I call this type of building ‘monumental blend in to the landscape’.
