...and that is considered the best of what Brazilian architects can produce....so disappointing!!

That only strengths the decision I took some years ago...
I'm glad I am not part of this dirty-political-world anymore!!

This so-called "architect" simply covered his lack of talent with a bunch of pieces of green wood.
The parenthesis are a lame excuse, there's no concept, no internal space quality, no creativity, among other BASIC elements that are essencial in any architecture project. As a student I find myself incredibly disappointed with this 'new' generation of brazilian architects. Who am I supposed to be inspired by?! Seems like we're still stuck in the 70/80's...

As a Brazilian architect I must to make it clear to other countries:

1- Due to their political influence the ASBEA – Brazilian Association of Architectural Firms is the responsible for the Brasilian Pavilion instead of the IAB – Institute of Architects of Brazil

2 – The ASBEA has organized an internal competition between its members and the project selected was the Fernando Brandão, coincidentally vice presidente of the organization.

3 – The explanation about the cost is ridiculous, the Brasilian Pavilion will cost 70 million dollars with all the costs involved. With more 9 millions we have the Canadian Pavilion.

4 – Considering that the project does not receive the adequate allocation we have a reason to believe that the country should cancel their participation at the event rather than expose your architecture to ridicule

5 – But, as we are speaking of Brazil, certainty no one associated office of ASBEA would give up an easy dollar bill paid with public money, even if it is to present one of the most grotesque projects that have already been executed on behalf of this country.

I'm brazilian and I need to say that this' a shame for me and my fellow countrymen. It's a terrible project by general agreement. How much did this Fernando Brandao (bleh!) paid for ASBEA to turn into a winner? I think this a little bit suspect.
