recently announced the Paris 2009 International Architecture Competition to be held from May to August of this year.  The competition proposes a reinterpretation of “the new ”, the most famous cabaret in the world and an important piece of Parisian life.

Further information about the competition after the break.

In the quest for the perfect show, a new space must be designed that incorporates the latest tendencies for the dance school and all its installations.  This new space should support the quality of the show and the performance of the dancers. The competition presents an opportunity to propose a new vision for a long standing tradition.

First Prize includes:

  • A cash prize of $3,000
  • Two flights to Paris to attend the awards ceremony and the exhibition of the competition’s winning proposals, to be held in September 2009
  • The winning project will be presented in a public ceremony at the Moulin Rouge itself
  • Accommodation for three nights for two people in the city of Paris
  • Conference for the architect on the day of the exhibition at the Moulin Rouge

Submissions are being excepted now until August 10, 2009.  The winners will be announced on August 21.  For complete competition files and information.

A word of warning to potential entrants – read, read, read the brief thoroughly before slaving away. The fine print of their last competition (poseidon) was scandalous, and to top it off they asked a $300/$400 ENTRY fee (you would think that they are doing you a favour).
We have just witnessed two recent competition fiascos set in Dubai and the Bahamas.
Entrant beware!

Deceived says:

The arquitectum competitions are absolutely faked. There is no clear understanding why the winners wins even if the competition requirements are not fulfilled. If you want to waste a hundred of USD $ join Arquitectum competitions :-)
