can anyone tell me if this was ever completed. My scout troop is studying Brazil for the International Fair and they really liked this idea of the tree. Also they wanted to know what the m stands for in the height of the tree. Thanks to anyone who can answer our questions.

This looks like an interesting square, totally open to the people, with a good mix of green, water and places and sheltered places to rest from the inclement sun of Natal. Plus it looks like it's a good upgrade from the previous situation. The excuse as being a mast for a massive christmas tree is also quite interesting. It's a joke (in the sense of fun) that suits a touristic purpose, as well as the name of the city and the brazilian passion of big celebrations!

Lucas, as well many readers on AD, should at least think a little before commenting on projects in countries they don´t know. Projects can be inserted in cultural context we might not understand.

Dunno, I think this is one of the better projects in awhile. At least it is fun. At least it is Christmas in a Catholic country.

My favorite thing is the location. Building virtual trees is very cool in Rio Grande do Norte.

Another good point is that it looks pretty menacing at all other times but Christmas.

They could have made a sundial out of it. Then it could have been the town Christmas tree and the town clock.
