Los Angeles-based CO Architects and New York City-based FXFOWLE have announced the formation of a joint venture firm known as CO/FXFOWLE. Formed in late December, the two firms will embark in a “genuine collaboration” with all their project services. While each firm will still maintain their individual identity and operations, they will pursue new projects together, allowing them to expand their geographic and expertise reach.

FXFOWLE strengths lie in urban planning, infrastructure, commercial, cultural and educational projects, while CO Architects has extensive experience in healthcare, science and technology, medical-education and civic typologies. Together, CO/FXFOWLE has already been invited to participate in a design competition for a prestigious educational institution in New York City.

“FXFOWLE shares the same aspirations for design as CO Architects,” says Scott Kelsey, AIA, Managing Principal of CO Architects. “There is a consistent attitude toward what we are trying to accomplish in architecture in terms of design, craft, detailing, and sustainability.”

FXFOWLE Managing Partner Guy Geier, FAIA, FIIDA, LEED AP adds, “We look forward to combining our shared philosophies and depth of experience as we pursue future opportunities together in order to create meaningful, sustainable architecture and interiors.”
