One more thing. The government does not run this hospital, EMERGENCY does. It is the core principle of that organization to recognize health care as the most basic of all human rights. It is a right from which all other flow. Therefore, they provide care completely free of charge and without discrimination. Their founder, Gino, would not allow any work of his to be used as propaganda. Perhaps you are not familiar with the work of EMERGENCY, but you should definitely check them out, because they are, in my opinion, the gold standard when it comes to health and human rights.

The "NO WEAPONS" sticker should not be interpreted as something indicative of realities in Sudan. Those signs appear at all EMERGENCY facilities as they are an organization that works primarily in conflict and post-conflict areas. What's more, they not only provide care, but also advocacy. EMERGENCY does not believe in the use of war for any means whatsoever, and as a result, that stickers indicates EMERGENCY's refusal to accept or condone the use of violence. Aside from providing medical, surgical, and rehabilitative care, they are also an advocacy organization. In the more than 160 plus conflicts since the end of World War II, greater than 90% of the victims have been civilians, NOT combatants, as one might expect. For this reason EMERGENCY provides care to the civilian victims of war while also serving as a voice on their behalf. That sticker should not be interpreted as some sort of reality of operating in Sudan, as the Salam Center is located in Khartoum, which is not a site of conflict. Therefore, we should view that sticker for it is, an emblem of EMERGENCY's refusal to accept war or violence of any kind. Its about peace.

I agree with the previous post, i think it's very important to expand the frontiers of the architecture that is published, nothing against starchitects shinny buildings around the world, but i think it's important to slso show other kinds of projects, that respond to a diferent reality.

It's refreshing to see projects from nations like Sudan.

Overall, its a good project.

The sticker of NO WEAPONS in the glass door reminds us of the reality of the country.

I hope that Hospital attends all the comunity in need (whether they support or not the regime), and will not be used as goverment propaganda or as a way to keep people under control in exchange of health care.

That being said, good project and thanks for posting.
