Hotel Liesma Proposal / Visual Workshop

Visual Workshop shared with us their proposal for the Hotel Liesma competition. The aim of their concept is to make a new landmark of the surrounding neighborhood as a contemporary, sustainable and functional hotel. More images and brief description after the break.

When the sea meets the earth, we see the power of nature, it can distroy or it can bring life. The project has to determine a new identity and extra value to the existing hotel building. So we attach a new dimension to the existing concrete grid structure, which is wrapped with two organic wings – water and earth, covering the building functions on the longitudial axis.

Curved elements are articulating building functions – EARTH – entrance; SEA – conference, hotel activities. Between these two curved elements, vertical communication is located which is articulated in building volumes through their correspondng functions.
