Architects: Jo Nagasaka + Schemata Architecture Office
Location: , Japan
Program: SOHO(2/3F)+apartment(1F)
Structure: RC Wall type structure
Site Area: 48,84 sqm
Constructed Area: 71,40 sqm
Photographer: Takumi Oota

63.02º, built in a densely residential area in Nakano, Tokyo, is a small building of a SOHO and an apartment for rent. The front road is really narrow, but the next apartment has a big open space between the road and the building. In order to this situation, the facade of 63.02° is inclined 63.02 degrees toward the front road, so that a wide and deep view is acquired. From the large windows that are opened on the inclined facade, you can see neighbor’s cherry tree and the cityscape.

I enjoy the design and creative effort of this fancy doll house/ gerbil cage. Not at all a pleasing space for a human being to live in. The cherry blossom is a nice touch. :-)

I’d love to see what it’s like to live in buildings like this. The cold white lighting and blank walls would definitely affect your emotions in the space. I don’t know how I’d react, but I’ve always loved to simplify my life, and get rid of clutter.

I love these Japanese houses.. I meen “let’s turn it 63º” No, not good enough; 63.02º, yes, much better….. :)

“pleasant” – maybe not but that is not what this is about.. I completely admire the client who dicied the only beauty should be the white cherry flowers for a short while each year.. That is aesthetic

And I would not hecitate to rent the room:)

is it just me or does the house look like the really shy kid hiding in the corner? The blank white walls facing the street are like a protective shield and the windows look away as if its embarrassed.
