Atrium’s recent design move from modern furniture supply to fine lighting was celebrated and explained through a carefully choreographed space designed by Studio RHE. The result was an interactive open space with central reception that could easily be transformed into a darkened showroom – with a little twist.

Studio RHE used a series of rotating, interlocking, hinged and jigsawed wall panels to transform the bright day-lit space into a darkened showroom. These walls allow natural light to enter into the space, while also offering a changing storefront to the streetscape of St. Giles Circus. This flexibility of the architecture allows ‘Atrium’ to demonstrate their ‘Soft Architecture’ lighting by FLOS.
In addition, Studio RHE have accentuated this by adding a rich mix of tactile materials high gloss resin to reclaimed Yara timber sleepers, while keeping to a predominantly white palette with a bright green edge throughout. Finally, an interior darkened meeting space was created, complete with color change lighting control wheels and integrally plastered fittings within the walls.
