I’m torn between my love of the concept and the final outcome of what should be acknowledged as a project very well done and the fact that this is the Arch Daily “House of the Year”. Other than the re-use concept, which I whole heartedly applaud, the design of the new structure seems to be very pedestrian at best. As stated above this is not a unique concept and has been done in many variations already. Is this then the “walled house of the year?” or maybe a side category of “Re-use house of the year?”

Actually in Perú , the colonial houses in Cuzco looks like this one, since the spanish built their mansions upon old Inka’s structures
