It was the most amazing and intense project I have worked on. The level of detail and quality control was second to none, with a tolerance of 2mm throughout the project. All floor, wall and ceiling joints had to align.

The stone pieces were all manufactured in Carrara Italy and had to fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. The large timber bay dividers are all free standing and do not require any structural support. They were made off site in sections then brought to site and installed. The ceiling panels are cast fibrous plaster which curve in both the horizontal and vertical plane.

We were blessed with a good builder and very good tradespeople who were able to accept the challenges of the project and execute the required detail.

Working with Marc Newson and Sebastien Segers was a fantastic experience.

It's a (very) unexpected proposal for an airport lounge: looks everything but generic. Would be interesting to see floorplans and sections of the project.

There is softness and hardness at the same time in this refined space. The feeling of nature in a controlled environment is excellent.
