A Modern Icon in Distress

Built in 1963, the Miami Marine Stadium was designed by Hilario Candela. It has since fallen into disrepair through years of vandalism and neglect. PinkCloud.DK intends to draw attention to this abandoned gem with an inflatable innovation. INFLATABLE focuses on three main agendas: 1) Ease of use and transportation. 2) Inexpensive construction and maintenance. 3) Unique identity to attract attention to the Miami Marine Stadium.

Utilizing helium as the main form of structure, Project INFLATABLE achieves a vast span of 280ft; it is tied down by six anchor cables. The immense size of the floating disc allows for maximum flexibility and shading for the stage below while simultaneously creating an icon visible from downtown Miami. Helium allows for efficient setup, convenient transport, and massive diameter with minimal structural support. INFLATABLE also aims for quick disassembly and negligible storage space.

The floating disc itself is perforated to allow natural light onto the stage, creating a unique spatial experience for the audience below. Its extensive surface area allows for the installation of PV solar panels, generating electricity for LED lights.
