UCSD Price Center East / Yazdani Studio of Cannon Design The plan of the University of California at San Diego’s existing student center, the Price Center, was developed with an “introverted” configuration – a central courtyard bordered on three sides by all of the building’s program elements facing inward – that established a powerful sense of place and a hub for dining, socializing, and events (read more…)

Boavista School / José Marini Bragança The Boavista School is located on the outskirts of the city of Leiria, in a rural atmosphere, between a forest and a road. There were two buildings, side by side, which occupied half of the land. The first was constructed in the 50′s, and the second is 20 years old, and was designed by the architect José Marini Bragança. Panta Rhei college interiors / i29 In the design for the new accommodations of public school Panta Rhei in Amstelveen (NL) there is a lot of attention on the balance between freedom and a sense of security. Snelder Architecten realised a building with many open multifunctional spaces where students can make themselves familiar with the teaching material. The interior design by i29 links up with that perfectly and gives the spaces an identity that connects with the students’ environment and addresses them directly and personally (read more…)

McGill University Life Sciences Complex / Diamond + Schmitt Architects & Provencher Roy + Associés architectes The primary function of the McGill University Life Sciences Complex is research in cancer and biomedicine. This includes five key components: chemical biology, complex traits, developmental biology, cell information systems and cancer research. The Complex integrates the new facilities, the Francesco Bellini Life Sciences Building and the Cancer Research Building, as well as the existing McIntyre Medical Sciences and Stewart Biological Sciences buildings (read more…)

Carl-Bolle Elementary School / Die Baupiloten The Baupiloten create space for exploratory learning at the Carl Bolle Elementary School in Berlin-Moabit. In the process of converting Carl Bolle Elementary into a full-time school, the Baupiloten have installed a leisure area in the landmarked building in order to allow the children a rhythmical exchange between learning and free time.
